I guess this is where the about me stuff should go. Kinda lame. If the site is provocative
(even if its not) it should reveal more about me than you or I should want. You cant hide from yourself.

So where did it all begin and where is it going. It begin in 2006 when the US Coast Guard wouldn't grant me a leave of absence...so I quit and took my previous catamaran, Parallax, a sweet sleek and fast Corsair 36 and single handed her throughout the Caribbean sea and then back to Norfolk, VA. I'm still a Civilian Coastie at heart, but I never regretted that decision for one second
I kept a website blog, took photos, wrote, sailed, met lots o folks and had a grand adventure. I bounced about in the subsequent years, attorney professional photographer, local government and a stint with the VA in Nashville, TN. Made enough to support my sailing habits and in 2016 bought a larger and faster sailing Catamaran, Which I renamed , you guessed it Parallax. And no, I didn't sacrifice a virgin to Neptune to atone for the name change, are you f'ing crazy. After a few open ocean crossings to Antigua and back with my girlfriend Robbyn,
and a couple more single handed, I decided I was ready for a more open ended adventure. So, it begin a long time ago in a universe where I was much younger, broker and caution was a word in the C's. I kept a website then in a time where Facebook was still mainly a collage thing and having your own URL was almost still a novelty. I still keep the site www.Parallaxcat.com . If you like looking at "back in the day" stuff....click. So where's it going... I don't know. It wont be like my previous site and it wont be a slick production and there wont be a lot of sensuous near nude shots of lovely young sailing types, sigh. But if you love sailing and adventure, I can take a decent photograph and put together a video a grade or two better than most tik-tok's and hopefully hold your interest.

In addition to the sailing, travel, adventure stuff, I plan to keep some how-too videos (I am the MacGyver he was a fake). I also want to keep in addition to a captain's log/blog, a blog on serious issues of the day in a hopefully not overly political context and in exercise of pure vanity, a space for my plays and other pieces I have written and hope to write as well as some original music by my rockstar son and his band.
I'll warn you straight up, it's my blog ill make the rules, fair is an imperfect illusion, and I don't suffer the shaming, blaming nattering ninnies' resident on the social media. If I piss you off you can be sure I'm having fun.
